Just put it on the bed, I hope it's nice and hot.

No, it's not what you think. It's a line from Sir Evelyn Oakleigh, a character in Anything Goes, referring to his cup of tea.

Yesterday afternoon was the closing performance of Anything Goes by the Colchester Community Theater at Bacon Academy, and it was excellent! Congratulations to the entire cast and crew for a wonderful production.

Despite it feeling very spring-like lately, it is still in fact winter, which means the Willimantic Orchestra (or Willy Philly as we like to call it) is having their annual winter concert soon. How soon? Sunday, March 4th at 3pm, to be exact.

If you enjoyed our New London Community Orchestra concert a few weeks back, you'll love the Willy Philly! They have the added bonus of being a full orchestra (that mean's they have winds (which means trumpets and flutes and things)) AAANNDD will be playing some fantastic pieces!

The program includes Britten, SoirĂ©es Musicales op. 9 (after Rossini); Mozart, Concerto for Horn and Orchestra No. 3 in E-flat (David W. Vaughan, horn); Handel, Overture to the Royal Fireworks Music; Mendelssohn, Symphony 3 in a minor (“Scotch”)

The Willimantic Orchestra holds its concerts in the Shafer Auditorium of Eastern Connecticut State University. The auditorium is on the intersection of Windham and Valley street, with parking on the backside of the building which faces High street.
